wow! What happened!? One day of being in school and when I check my DA my faves went up to 423 (from 200 or something like that)!

well Aphrodisias was one of the wellfaring greece cultured cities in the land that now is known as turkey, it had profited because of it's marmer trade(rare white marmer could be found and also impure bleu) I am not really sure why it was abandoned(they told me but that has been a long time now...) I think it was because of christianity?(at least that was why the name was changed)

the picture above is of the temple of Aphrodithe, goddess of love and godly love after which the city was named. It was named after her because before the people of ancient greece came, this place had already honored a deity of fertilitity and like it goes many times both sides thought that it was about the same goddess with just another name so they named the city after it:)

sorry for spelling faults, english isn't my mother tongue;)
